A Headshot That Matches the Role
An executive headshot has a different job than a casual profile photo. It needs to look confident and approachable at the same time, and it needs to hold up on a leadership page next to the rest of your team, in a conference program, or in a news story about your company. I've been behind the camera for more than 30 years and have run Photography by Mesh full time since 2016. Before photography, I spent 17 years in hotel operations, from the front desk to Regional Vice President over Austin's select-service Marriott hotels. I know what it takes to keep operations on schedule.
We plan the look first. When you reach out, tell me where the photos will be used and share your company's leadership page, and I'll suggest what to wear. Then I direct every pose. Most leaders don't spend much time in front of a camera, and that's normal. I coach posture, angle and expression the whole way through, and you see every frame on a monitor as we shoot, so we can adjust together as we go.
You choose the setting. Studio sessions give you a clean, simple background that matches across a whole leadership team. On-location sessions place you in your office, lobby or a setting that tells your company's story. Every image in your gallery is professionally edited for color, exposure and contrast, and you receive edited images within two business days after each session. Detailed retouching is a paid add-on for the images you choose.

When a whole leadership team needs new photos, consistency matters. I keep the lighting and background the same for every person, so the whole team looks like one brand on your website. I can also bring the studio to your office and schedule each person in a short time slot around your calendar.

What to Wear
Solid colors photograph best. A tailored suit, blazer or structured dress in navy, charcoal or black is a safe choice for most industries. A crisp collared shirt or blouse without a jacket works well for tech and creative companies. Very fine checks, tight stripes and bright neon can distract from your face on camera, so bring an alternative if your favorite piece has one. Bring a second outfit if you'd like a more relaxed option for social media.

How long does an executive headshot session take?
Most individual sessions take 45 minutes to an hour, with time for one or two looks.
Can you photograph our whole leadership team on the same day?
In most cases, yes. I can bring the studio to your office and photograph each person in a short, scheduled time slot. Tell me how many people need photos and I'll suggest a schedule.
Will our headshots match our existing team photos?
Often, yes. Send me a few of your current team photos when you reach out, and I'll tell you how closely I can match the lighting, background and framing.
Do I get to see the photos during the session?
Yes. Every frame shows up on a monitor as we shoot, so you'll see your best shots before we wrap.
What's included in the editing?
